Sarah Cross Artist I am an artist based in Marlborough, Wiltshire, UK specialising in multi media pieces, predominantly using textile techniques. When creating my work, inspiration comes from nature and it's many forms. I am particularly fascinated by the forest and the sea in equal measure. The textures, colours and movement are captivating and provide infinite possibilities for creativity. More recently I have been inspired by the animal kingdom and my latest solo shows have explored some of my favourite animals. I have a degree in Fashion Textiles from Plymouth University and have produced work for clients such as The Royal Henley Regatta, Tommy Hilfiger Amsterdam, Fullers Breweries and a range of private clients worldwide. Professionally, I have been a television presenter of children's art programmes for Carlton Television and have taught Art based Textiles and Fine Art in a variety of schools for 26 years. I have collaborated with international haute couturier Debbie Wingham on a wide range of projects in fashion and art and recently featured on the BBC1 Art show Home is where the Art is, where I won the commission. My most recent collaboration has been with Fox Brothers & Co Ltd. I have created bespoke textile pieces for the 'Home' website and range of designs for soft furnishings to be sold by The Merchant Fox. |
